November 2016: official opening of new BQF office

Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, Patron of the British Quality Foundation, kindly opened their new offices in the City of London on 17 November. Dave was invited to the event both as a long-term supporter and for his project management work this year on the UK Excellence Award, and Derek was invited in recognition of his own contribution over many years.

Both of us have helped the BQF in many ways - practical and promotional - since the mid-1990s, so were delighted to be invited to help celebrate this latest achievement. It was also great that two long-time very good friends of D&D - fellow Excellence assessor & adviser Mike Curry, and Richard Jones of Interserve - were there to enjoy the event.

We also met there a young lady, Tracey Johnson from DWF, who remembered us from our work with many parts of the TNT Group in the early “noughties”. As we have had no contact for well over 10 years we hope that it's positive that she remembered us rather than infamy!

Her Royal Highness spent time speaking with all the guests. As we have noticed many times in the past she spoke knowledgeably and enthusiastically about the Excellence Model and its benefits to organisations. And with Dave, Derek and Mike Curry having an aggregate between them of some seventy years of assessing we were particularly pleased to hear her talk about the value of the feedback to organisations from good assessors.
